Executive Council

The Executive Council of the Association for Underprivileged People (AUP) serves as the governing body, providing strategic direction, oversight, and leadership to ensure the organization remains aligned with its mission and vision. The council consists of dedicated professionals from diverse backgrounds who work collaboratively to drive positive change in underprivileged communities.

Our Governance Structure

AUP operates under a transparent and participatory governance model, ensuring that all decisions are made with accountability and inclusivity. The Executive Council is elected every three years by the General Council, following a fair and democratic process.

Key Responsibilities of the Executive Council:

  • Policy Formulation: Setting strategic goals and operational guidelines.
  • Financial Oversight: Ensuring financial transparency and accountability.
  • Program Supervision: Monitoring the impact and effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strengthening partnerships with donors, government, and community organizations.

Our Selection Process

  • The General Council, consisting of 27 members, holds an election every three years to form the 9-member Executive Council.
  • A three-member Election Commission is appointed to conduct the election process.
  • Advocate for social justice, equal opportunities, and community development.
  • Members are elected democratically, ensuring representation from different professional sectors.


The Executive Council members serve voluntarily, receiving no honorarium or financial benefits—only a travel allowance to attend meetings. Their dedication and leadership ensure that AUP remains committed to its mission of serving underprivileged communities.

Management Committee

The Management Committee of the Association for Underprivileged People (AUP) is responsible for the day-to-day operations, program implementation, and administrative management of the organization. This committee ensures that AUP’s strategic goals set by the Executive Council are effectively executed to create sustainable social impact.

Roles & Responsibilities of the Management Committee

The Management Committee functions as the operational backbone of AUP, ensuring efficient program execution and organizational sustainability.

Key Responsibilities of the Executive Council:

  • Program Implementation: Overseeing the execution of various development programs and projects.
  • Administrative Oversight: Managing daily operations, including HR, finance, and logistics.
  • Financial Management: Ensuring compliance with financial policies and overseeing budget execution.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Assessing the effectiveness and impact of AUP’s programs.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Maintaining relationships with donors, government agencies, and community partners.

The Management Committee Follows a Structured and Transparent Decision-Making Process::

  • Weekly Operational Meetings: Reviewing progress, addressing challenges, and strategizing improvements.
  • Monthly Performance Reviews: Evaluating project effectiveness and financial status.
  • Annual Strategic Planning – Aligning the organization’s mission with actionable goals.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Assessing the effectiveness and impact of AUP’s programs.
